THE WORLD POKER TOUR

The World Poker Tour first appeared in 2003, taking advantage of the online poker boom. During the first editions the tournament was really popular, as it was the first tournament broadcasted on television and that used hole cards cameras.

However, those novelties soon started to be imitated by other competitors and after 2005, the WPT popularity decreased notably.

Recently, the World Poker Tour has just been bought by Peerless Media, and maybe it will become again as popular as it used to be.
